Reading in the hammock

Maggie and I read two books in the hammock on Thursday night. The Cat in the Hat, and Six Dinner Sid. She was quite amenable to the books and spent lots of time staring up into the rustling leaves. Nice night!

Evening stroll to the park

We went for a walk over to Irving Park last night at around 8pm last night, while it was still almost 80 degrees. There were lots of people enjoying themselves. 2 little girls were zooming around on 3 wheeled scooters under the covered area. The youngest teenage set was playing basketball. The off-leash dog park area was full of dogs, including a dalmatian rolling in the dirt. There was a couple rolling around on top of each other under a blanket (fully clothed), and another couple balancing on a slack line. Others were kicking a soccer ball around, and there was a group of 4 guys working through a 12-pack of Rainier.

We settled down on a blanket with Maggie and just relaxed for 30 minutes. We listened to the wind rustle through the leaves and only cleaned up spit-up a few times as Maggie's attention bounced from the 2 of us, to the treetops, to her monkey friend, and back to us.
